Buying Korean Fashion Online from Abroad: Shipping, Fit and Return Checks

Check destination-specific shipping fees, garment measurements, discounted free-shipping thresholds and eligible returns before buying Korean fashion internationally.

The quick answer

Choose a store that ships the exact item to your country, compare the product measurements with a similar garment you own, and price the complete checkout. For MUSINSA Global, do not assume size dissatisfaction is returnable. A larger basket is worthwhile only when you actually want the extra items; free shipping alone is not a saving.

The order to check things

Step Check Stop if…
1 Destination and exact product eligibility Checkout will not accept your address
2 Item measurements and fabric An essential dimension is missing
3 Product-specific return terms You need a try-at-home service that is not offered
4 Discounted basket, shipping and taxes The total exceeds your actual budget
5 Delivery window and support You need arrival by an unconfirmed deadline

MUSINSA Global: three verified shipping examples

The current help page lists these per-order shipping fees and free-shipping thresholds. The threshold uses the discounted purchase amount and excludes duties and taxes. These figures belong to MUSINSA Global, not every Korean retailer; confirm the actual checkout.

Destination Shipping fee Free-shipping purchase threshold
United States US$20 US$200
Canada CA$20 CA$290
Australia AU$40 AU$370

A discount can move the basket below the threshold

Illustration using the published US threshold: a US$205 basket reduced by a US$20 discount becomes US$185 before taxes. At the stated US$20 shipping fee, its item-plus-shipping total returns to US$205. Do not read the original basket as qualifying for free shipping. Checkout promotions can change the result.

If adding an unwanted US$30 item makes shipping free, the US$185 basket becomes US$215 rather than US$205 with shipping. You spend US$10 more. Calculate the actual difference and keep currencies separate; CA$ and US$ are not interchangeable.

Match the garment, not the familiar letter

Save the exact brand, item code, colour and size option. Lay a comparable garment flat and record the measurements using the listing’s diagram. Check whether chest and waist are widths or circumferences. A similar photograph is not enough when your reference garment stretches and the item you want does not.

For trousers, a waist match alone does not settle hip, thigh, rise or inseam. For tops, include shoulder, armhole and length. If the label is FREE, insist on dimensions rather than an assumed universal fit.

Returns: separate preference from a seller error

MUSINSA Global’s return procedure excludes change of mind and personal size or colour preference. Eligible defect, damage or seller-error requests must be submitted within seven days of receipt with at least three photos. Wait for approval and the return instructions before sending a parcel. This is a retailer policy example, not a statement about every destination’s rights.

Check the exact item’s terms before payment. Keep the package, tags and order record while checking for an eligible problem. If you receive a different item, photograph its label and item code; if measurements appear wrong, use the retailer’s method rather than pulling the garment to produce a larger number.

Before you order

Continue planning

Start with Korean clothing sizes and the one-size checklist before selecting an option. For an in-person alternative, plan a Seongsu shopping day.
